Pup's Steakhouse Welcomes Our New Executive Chef William Tew!

William Tew brings over 24 years of culinary experience and deep local roots to his new role as Executive Chef of Pup’s Steakhouse in Wilson, NC. A proud Wilson native, Chef Tew most recently served for over 12 years as Executive Chef at Wilson Country Club, following a 6.5-year tenure as Executive Sous Chef at Jack’s. His approach to food is rooted in comfort and Southern tradition, elevated with refined technique and modern steakhouse sensibilities.


Chef Tew holds a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, with a focus in Management Information Systems and a minor in Business. His unique blend of business acumen and culinary leadership is already shaping the future of Pup’s, where kitchen upgrades and a renewed emphasis on quality and seasonal offerings are underway.


Outside the kitchen, Chef Tew is a proud father of two and remains deeply connected to the Wilson community he calls home. He is honored to lead Pup’s into its next chapter, delivering an elevated yet approachable dining experience for both new and returning guests.

Our Philosophy

 Owner Michael Dunn opened the restaurant in 2010 in the Shoppes at Brentwood.  The Wilson native, determined to reflect the flavor of his hometown and state, decorated the space with artwork by local artists and along with our culinary team serves a delicious menu that includes Black Angus Beef and seafood from our North Carolina Coast.
